What a wonderful Easter weekend it was at LTC 2017! We had 113 participants along with their supportive church members join us from ten congregations. It was a blessing to watch them participate in Bible Reading, Song Leading, Bible Bowl, Signing for the Deaf, Speech, Live Modern Christian Drama, and other events throughout the weekend. Thank you to the participants for all your hard work in preparing for all of the events this year. And thank you to the church coordinators, parents and volunteers, as you led these children this year, through your encouragement and direction, as well as by example. And finally, thank you to all of the event coordinators and judges, as you volunteered your time at the convention to thoughtfully encourage the participants with your honest yet constructive feedback.
New this year was the Silent Auction. We raised $220 through this auction of artwork (including worship banner and bulletin board) donated by our participants. Thank you to all who donated their artwork, and all who donated money through this auction!
Next year is sure to be even more wonderful! As was announced on Sunday morning, this year’s theme is “King of my Heart” and our study will be from the book of 1 Samuel. God’s chosen people, the nation of Israel, had the Lord Almighty as their divine king, however, they cried out for someone else to rule over them instead. Rather than ask the ruler of the heavens to be their leader and guide, they chose to submit themselves to another. We have the same choice today,
For all time, God remains the divine king and He still desires to reign in every heart. He longs to hear each of us declare Him “King of My Heart,” yet our Lord has left the critical decision of whom we will serve to you and to me. The challenge for LTC 2018 is for all of us to examine our hearts, to look at our lives, and determine who reigns over us. Are you willing to let the Lord become your king? Are you willing to let Him reign on the throne of your heart?
See you next year!
