Leadership Training for Christ is an annual convention for young men and women (grades 3-12) to earn awards in individual and group events. Some events (art, service, writing, memorization, design…) are completed throughout the year, and others (Bible Bowl, drama, speech, song leading, puppets…) are performed live at the convention.

When?

The LTC convention is held Easter Weekend each year.
Registration typically opens in early January.

Who?

Young men and women in 3rd-12th grade can participate.
Parents, siblings, and other spectators are encouraged to attend.

How much does it cost?

We try to keep participation as affordable as possible. Registration is typically around $50 per youth participant (includes a T-shirt, Friday Night Dinner, and awards). Be sure to check the manual for this year’s specifics. There is no charge for spectators. All attendees are responsible for their own food and lodging.

Are these events “competitive”?

Rather than being ranked (First Place, Second Place, Third Place…), all participants are awarded “grades” of Gold, Silver, and Bronze (roughly equivalent to A, B, C grades received in school).

The focus is on learning to serve the church with selfless, Christ-like service and leadership, so youth are challenged to compete only against themselves as they strive for excellence.
